The Oldest Operating Court on Route 66!
We believe traveling is about the journey – taking a road less traveled, meeting lifelong friends, discovering places you’ll never forget, and making some of your best memories ever.
Your time at historic Rockwood Motor Court will be a special part of your journey as you meet and share stories with other guests and sleep in the same rooms where Route 66 travelers have stayed since 1929.
Newly renovated in 2019, you’ll enjoy clean and comfortable room amenities (with Wifi and Blue Tooth) while experiencing authentic motor court lodging. Each room is themed to an era of Route 66 with vintage décor, furniture, and memorabilia. Browse through their website and choose the room that’s just right for you!
The historic 1939 Boots Court motel is located at the “Crossroads of America” in Carthage, Missouri, and remains one of the oldest operating motels along the iconic Route 66. The original structure was conceived by Arthur Boots in the Streamline Modern style and designed specifically for the Route 66 tourist trade. Boots Court was a successful business venture, and four additional units were promptly built onto the existing building. A five-room building was constructed by new owners in 1946, expanding the number of available guest rooms to 13. Unfortunately, over ensuing years and changes in ownership, this iconic and unique motel fell into disrepair and only the back five rooms were available for travelers.
As the second oldest motel on Route 66, The owners love international tour groups! All 13 rooms have been fully renovated,
